White frost crunches under our feet, instead of leaves this morning. A low-lying fog over Red Hill Pond lifts and as the sun splashes across the Sandwich Range, the hills glow golden.

Here are some fun and interesting events coming up in the next few weeks. You can read more about them below.

October 31 – Halloween in the Village
October 31 – Jackie at Cornerhouse
November 1 – Local WWI Vet Story at Library
November 5 – Historical Society annual Meeting
November 6, 7 – Mosaic Glass Art Class at Field fine Art
November 15 – Master Plan Survey Due

Master Plan Survey

The Town of Sandwich is updating its Master Plan — a document that will help guide land use, housing, natural resources, and community priorities over the next decade. The Town of Sandwich has mailed the 2025 Master Plan Survey to all taxpayers. Residents and property owners are encouraged to complete the survey online through SurveyMonkey to make data collection and analysis easier.
Online Survey: www.surveymonkey.com/r/9BTR2Z7
If you prefer, you may complete the paper version and return by mail, or in person to one of the drop boxes at Town Hall or the Library.
Your responses will help guide the Planning Board and other town committees as they update Sandwich's Master Plan -- the long-range document that identifies community priorities and future directions.
Survey Deadline: November 15, 2025
For more information, visit the Master Plan page on the Town website at www.sandwichnh.org
This survey is your chance to share your priorities, concerns, and hopes for the future of Sandwich.
Your input matters: the Planning Board and other town committees rely on resident feedback to set direction and shape future policies.
For more information, visit the Master Plan Committee page on the Town website: sandwichnh.org, click Master Plan. Questions? Email us at [email protected].

Thin Film Plastic Recycle Program Ends

The plastic Recycling 'Trex' Program (thin soft 'film plastics) at the Transfer Station has ended as of Columbus day weekend. We couldn't find a replacement volunteer. Of course the larger dumpster solid plastic recycling (including # 1, 2 & 7) will continue.
However, don’t stop the good habit of bringing this plastic to a Trex bin. You can bring it to Hannafords in Meredith (& most store locations).  There will be a large poster at transfer station as a reminder to redirect your thin plastics.
Recycling is a very worthwhile endeavor if, indeed materials go to a better destination than landfill and Trex has created a near-perfect solution with plastic composite for building materials.

Advance notice of any delays and restrictions will be provided, as applicable.

North Sandwich Friends Meeting invites friends and neighbors to join their weekly Meeting for Worship from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Sunday at the North Sandwich Meetinghouse (354 Quaker Whiteface Rd., N Sandwich, NH 03259).
Meeting for Worship is a time of quiet listening to the inner voice of spirit, God, the Light within –whatever term one uses—in community with others. We sit largely in silence for an hour; friends who are deeply moved to share an insight may rise and do so. Most Sundays, a very brief reading is offered reflecting Quaker values or history, which may provide a common focus for reflection. After the meeting, friends share individual reflections and announcements with each other.
