And this year there will be something new: a special appearance by pied piper and storyteller Papa Joe Gaudet, who will entertain the kids with a short interactive performance, a prelude to his appearance on May 2, 2026 right here at the Benz Center for the New Hampshire Storytelling Alliance’s Granite State Story Swap.

Sandwich Transfer Station

Facility stickers are available at the town hall for 2025-2026. Facility stickers are required for use of the Transfer Station. Stickers are available for purchase at Town Hall, by mail or by drop box.
Sandwich Transfer Station hours are Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm. Please arrive at the Transfer Station at least 15 minutes before closing to allow for unloading and closure for the day. Kevin and John appreciate being able to close on time. Reminder: if you are recycling larger cardboard, please be sure it is cut to a maximum size of 4' x 4'. Larger pieces jam up our compactors!

Tax Bills Sent

Sandwich property tax bills for 2025 were mailed on November 20 to Sandwich property owners, to the address on file with the town. The taxes are due on or before Tuesday, December 23, 2025. If your mail is being forwarded or you believe you may have a delay in receiving your mail, you may access the  Tax Kiosk on the town website, sandwichnh.org, to find your amount due; you may search by Owner, Parcel ID or Address. You can then view and/or print your bill, however you cannot pay your bill online.
Note:   Parcel IDs (Map/Lots) were changed in 2024 due to GIS remapping.   Search by Owner or Address for best results or reach out to the tax office at 603-284-7113 to confirm the amount due.
You may make your payment in person, via mail, Bill Pay (from your bank account) or our secure Drop Box (located at the back entrance to Town Hall; top of the ramp).   Kindly include a self-addressed stamped envelope along with your receipt stub if you would like your receipt mailed to you.
If your taxes are paid out of an escrow account, please do not remit payment to the town as this will be handled by your financial institution.
For questions related to your tax assessment, please contact the Selectmen’s Office at (603) 284-7701.
For questions related to your tax bills, please contact the Tax Collector’s Office at (603) 284-7113.
The Tax office is closed Holidays and Election Tuesdays. Forms of payment accepted at the Tax Collector's Office are cash and checks only (no credit or debit cards).  Checks include ‘BILL PAY’ from your bank to the Town of Sandwich (Acct # should reference your Parcel ID or Street Address).
As a reminder, the total tax rate of $9.25 is comprised of four categories:
  • Municipal rate – the town’s budgetary decisions only influence this rate. 2025 municipal rate: $2.83. (note: there are only about 20 other towns out of 119 with lower municipal rates)
  • Local education – the Interlakes School District’s budgetary decisions determine this rate. 2025 local education rate: $4.57.
  • State education – state legislation impacts this calculation. 2025 state education rate: $1.13.
  • County: this is influenced by the decisions made at the Carroll County government level. 2025 county tax rate: $0.72

North Sandwich Friends

North Sandwich Friends Meeting invites friends and neighbors to join their weekly Meeting for Worship from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Sunday at the North Sandwich Meetinghouse (354 Quaker Whiteface Rd., N Sandwich, NH 03259).
Meeting for Worship is a time of quiet listening to the inner voice of spirit, God, the Light within –whatever term one uses—in community with others. We sit largely in silence for an hour; friends who are deeply moved to share an insight may rise and do so. Most Sundays, a very brief reading is offered reflecting Quaker values or history, which may provide a common focus for reflection. After the meeting, friends share individual reflections and announcements with each other.
