Sandwich Ski Trail System A note from Ole Anderson, director of Sandwich Parks and Recreation: The Nordic ski trails in the center are open for use. We want to thank the Sandwich Fair Association for their support for these trails. I would like to request some considerations when using these trails. You are all more than welcome, and encouraged, to use the trails at any point. This trail system is used by SCS Nordic program 1:15-2:20 on Tuesdays, the Sandwich Parks and Rec Nordic Program on Saturdays, and also used by the Inter-Lakes Nordic ski team on several afternoons a week. It is possible the trails will be busy on a weekday afternoon, but by no means closed, during these Inter-Lakes practices. Closed Mon 2/16 All Day for Middle School Championship Race. I would like to ask anyone who uses the trails for non-skiing purposes to respect that these are first and foremost groomed trails for skiers. If you feel this is the best place to take a stroll, whether alone, in a group, or with a dog, please keep your foot traffic to the edge of the groomed area. Footprints through the groomed area can severely and dangerously impact the terrain for the skiers. These trails are not for sledding, please do not sled or allow your children to sled on the trails. If you do take your dog, please pick up their poop. Not doing so is unacceptable anywhere and our groomed Nordic ski trails are no exception. Porta-Potties are not trash cans, if you wouldn’t put it in your toilet, don’t put it in porta-potty. I appreciate your cooperation and look forward to seeing you out on the trails! Many thanks to Steve Olafsen for trail grooming assistance! If you have any questions, program or event ideas, or would like to volunteer please contact Ole at [email protected].
